The serendipitous chats and connections that happen at physical conferences—in the coffee breaks, corridors, and hallways, and at 'reception' events—can be one of the most rewarding, enjoyable, and useful parts of the experience for many people. Whether you see it as networking, or just "finding the others", this sort of community-building (and friendship-building) can be important for researchers of all career stages, but especially for people who may be working alone (and especially at present).
These two DRS Town Hall sessions, timed to allow design researchers from around the world to participate, and lightly facilitated with some informal activities, have no real agenda other than to enable some of those chats and connections to happen. Whether you join us with a coffee or something more appropriate for your time zone, all design researchers, whether DRS members or not, are welcome to join.
